Today’s special is an old recipe that never disappoints….. I must admit I’ve had a hard time doing a short write-up on this band… See, I grew up listening to these guys and I’m loaded with memories of great times and great friends that I miss dearly aside from the music itself…But aah the music… Full of attitude, Rock-n-Roll, Funk and a big dose of Cool and raw talent making them tops in entertainment. Truly one of the best live bands I’ve had the pleasure to see. I’ll admit that it was the earlier stuff that caught my ear the most. They did end up moving genres a bit into a Pop Rock with songs like “Freeze Frame” and “Centerfold” and others…

It’s funny that whenever I hear talk about who’s the best guitar player, I rarely hear Johnny on that list yet any of these other guitar greats would surely agree that Johnny is tops on this list in so many ways. He played with such ease with an accommodating Great blues voice or sometimes just an intermittent growl or simply using his voice as an instrument. And above all though I never met the man I can tell that he was also a cool and friendly guy that any of us would have enjoyed spending some time with given the chance. There’s a lot of Johnny’s music to enjoy but I’ve selected just a couple of tunes for this segment designed to give you a taste, leave you wanting more and saying “Mmmm that’s so Good!”
